Gatherings that fund
the families we serve.
The JRA Foundation funds its assistance program through a small number of high-impact events. Every ticket, sponsorship, and silent-auction bid routes directly into grants for cancer families in active treatment.
The Resilient Open.
Our biggest day of the year.
A tournament built in John’s memory. 100 golfers, one afternoon at The Architects Golf Club in Phillipsburg NJ, an evening of dinner and auction. Year one delivered $35,267 to Blood Cancer United research and gave birth to the JRA Foundation. Year two is how we double it.
Why we run events.
Grants cost money. Every gas card, every hotel night, every parking pass is cash out the door. The JRA Foundation is a small, lean organization — no endowment, no corporate sponsor writing nine-figure checks. What we have is a room full of people who show up because the cause is real.
Events are how we turn a room full of people into a year of grants. A single great tournament funds dozens of families. A great silent auction can cover parking at Memorial Sloan Kettering for a whole treatment cycle. That’s the math we’re running.
That’s also why we’re picky about what we put on the calendar. Fewer events, done right, moving real money. Not a bloated calendar of ticket-sale obligations.
More events coming soon.
The Resilient Open is the flagship, but it won’t be alone for long. We’re actively building out a year-round calendar of high-impact gatherings — each one built around a specific kind of supporter, a specific kind of check, and a specific way to move money to families faster.
Here’s what’s in development. Dates, venues, and registration details are being finalized. If any of these sound like your thing, email us at events@jrafoundation.org and we’ll put you on the notify list.
The Resilient Dinner.
An intimate evening for major donors, grant recipients, and care-team partners. A seated dinner, a short program, a direct storytelling moment from a family we’ve helped, and a giving round. The kind of night where the room decides to do more.
Resilient Miles.
A charity 5K + peer-to-peer fundraising weekend. Runners, walkers, and team captains build their own pages, raise grant money, and meet at a finish line where we tell them exactly what their effort covered. A way for anyone to show up, regardless of budget.
Want to run an event for the foundation?
Individuals, companies, and community groups host fundraising events for the JRA Foundation all year. Poker nights, gala dinners, golf outings, online raffles, school dress-downs — if it raises money and pays it forward, we’ll help you make it happen. We provide marketing materials, tax receipts, and on-the-ground support.
