The people guiding this work.
We're building a board of people committed to access, equity, and doing something real about a gap that's been ignored for too long.
Bryan Angelo
Chairman, Founder & Executive Director Managing Partner, Off ZeroBryan founded the JRA Foundation in memory of his father, John Angelo. The mission was driven by a moment shared between Bryan and his dad on their drive home one afternoon from Memorial Sloan Kettering. A simple question surfaced: how do families without the financial means pay for all the additional costs of accessing the cancer care they need? That question became our mission, and the JRA Foundation is the answer.
Named in memory of his father John, who lost his battle with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in October of 2019, the Foundation’s mission is to remove the financial barriers between cancer patients and their treatment by covering the costs insurance won’t: transportation, lodging, meals, and the everyday expenses that stand between a family and the fight ahead.
Bryan brings nearly two decades of marketing and business strategy experience to the work. He spent the early years of his career leading digital marketing agencies, later co-founded an e-commerce technology company in the beverage alcohol space, served as SVP of Marketing at a leading New York City wine and spirits importer, and was CMO of a crypto fintech company later acquired by Kraken. Today he leads Off Zero, an AI-enabled marketing intelligence and growth firm, and is the principal of Olegna Group, a Lehigh Valley-based investment and consulting firm.
He channels that same operator’s mindset into the JRA Foundation: building an organization that is direct, efficient, and accountable to the families it serves.
Matthew Angelo
Vice-Chairman Luxury Travel Advisor, DNCMatthew Angelo serves as Vice Chair of the JRA Foundation, carrying forward a mission that is deeply personal to him and his family. His father’s experience with cancer brought into focus the many challenges families face beyond treatment itself, particularly the financial strain that can accompany even the best care. Supporting the foundation is Matthew’s way of turning that experience into meaningful action for others.
Professionally, Matthew has built a career defined by precision, relationship building, and a high level of personal accountability. As a luxury travel advisor, he designs complex, highly customized journeys for clients around the world, working closely with trusted global partners. His work requires thoughtful problem solving, clear communication, and the ability to navigate sensitive, high stakes situations, skills that translate directly to his leadership within the foundation. In parallel, he maintains an active career as a professional classical flutist with performances across the United States and internationally, including at Carnegie Hall, work that reinforces a disciplined, collaborative approach grounded in preparation and excellence.
As Vice Chair, Matthew brings a steady, service driven perspective to the organization, combining his professional experience with a genuine commitment to helping ensure the foundation operates with care, intention, and meaningful impact.
Patricia Ventura
Treasurer Fractional CFO, VPV GroupPatricia Ventura serves as Treasurer of the JRA Foundation. An experienced financial executive with a demonstrated history in the construction industry, she brings energy, focus, and alignment to every organization she leads. A trusted leader who develops teams through a collaborative mentoring style. Extensive experience in accounting, finance, cash management, human resources, budgeting, and risk management. In the past 8 years she has sold two construction companies and is currently working as a fractional CFO. She lives with her husband of 35 years in Pittstown and has three grown sons. In her spare time, enjoys trying to improve her golf game.
For Patti, this mission is deeply meaningful. She was a long‑time neighbor and friend of John’s, and her oldest son and Bryan have been close friends for more than twenty‑five years. Through John’s treatment, Patti was a steady presence, checking in regularly and rarely arriving without a fresh batch of her famous chocolate chip cookies. That same care is what she brings to her role as Treasurer: showing up, paying attention, and making sure the people inside the work are looked after.
Tracey Figurelli
Board Member Managing Director, 90North PartnersTracey worked alongside John Angelo for many years at RGP (Resources Global Professionals), where the two were colleagues, collaborators, and friends. Joining the JRA Foundation is her way of carrying that friendship forward into the work the family has built in his name.
Tracey is the founder of 90North Partners, a buy-side advisory firm focused on identifying acquisitions in the middle market, with more than $2 billion in enterprise value transacted to date. She also founded a venture fund investing in early‑stage technology companies, advising founders from pre‑seed capital raise through successful exit. Earlier in her career, she served as Chief Digital Officer at a global consultancy, taking the firm public and expanding offices globally to reach just shy of a $1 billion market cap. She has held both public and private company board roles across her career.
For the JRA Foundation, Tracey brings a combination of capital strategy, growth‑stage operating experience, and seasoned board governance that will help guide how the organization scales, paired with the kind of personal connection that keeps the work grounded in who John was.
